NY Boat Show

I went on my annual excursion to Javits yesterday not expecting much. I wasn`t disappointed.Sure they had beautiful fishing boats there,but the prices were very high.I was mainly interested in any seminars but didn`t see any while I was there. The accessories were ok. There were only two fishing gear displays with one being big game , I just had to go to the show to break up my winter blues.

I can remember back in the 90's when the show was all 3 floors at Javits. We would hand out over 20k magazines and the place was lined with booths and regular seminars. I spent so much time at the shows back then that it still feels like a job to me just as a visitor.

I break up my winter blues now spending time- and money - in tackle shops

Same assessment. If you are not sure the economy is good, go to the show. The boat displays and prices definitely reflected it. Spent the most time at Steiger. If you take the LIRR ask for the boat show package ($28.50 round trip including boat show ticket from Ronkonkoma).
