NY Rangers

Couldn't ask for a better start. Vas really wasn't bad...he had one bad goal from Vatrano, the rest were 2 on1 's or one timers. Sure, when he is in top form, he make a few of those saves. TB even though they were rusty still had great scoring chances, and the post was our friend, their team defense was suspect and that is not the norm. But you can't take away the NYR hustle, speed and passes that are sometimes lacking. Igor was very good again. Brayden Point missing from their lineup made a difference too...I think he got hurt in practice earlier in the day. Looking ahead to Friday, I'm sure TB will be much better, especially defensively and hopefully the NYR will not have that false sense of security of winning game one, and take their foot off the gas and play a softer east west game. They won with speed and going to the net, and blocking shots...keep it up boys!

Will be watching the beginning of the game at home and the end at Fishtales @ Molnars Landing where my sons band is playing at 6?
LGR!!!!

After a very nice game 2 where the NYR controlled 95% of the game, and Igor stood on his head at the very end for the win, the series shifted to TB. Ah, the dreaded 2 goal lead with our NYR. We take the lead during on odd penalty filled period, and sit back and try and protect. Without a doubt Tampa was the better team yesterday..50 shots on goal! NYR outshot 20-4 in the 3rd. Sure I was hoping we got lucky late in period with Vas not seeing any pressure, but they were not to be denied on a beauty from TB top talent of Kutch, Stamkos and Palat. Lets see which teams show up for game 4.

Somehow the NYR got more shots than TB did. I didn't believe it, and the results didn't show it. Outplayed all around again, beaten to almost every loose puck, and playing an outside game. All TB goals came from in close, as did the lone tally for NY. To me, we looked like we are gliding taking our time getting to pucks, while TB is full speed, playing on another level, much more north/south. They are back to back champs, and it shows. So, we are all tied up and it's now a best of 3. To say winning the next game is an understatement. Lets hope the resiliency the NYR have shown all season long will make an appearance tomorrow night, otherwise, good luck trying to beat TB at their home in an elimination game.

I feel like the last 4 periods have been played in the Ranger end. Adam Fox complaining to the offense to maybe keep the puck in the TB end for a few moments to give the defense a break!
Maybe someone needs to Gillooly Vasilevskiy just a little bit....

TB did a great job blocking shots and playing their game. Rangers need to attack Vasilevskiy on the blocker side.

Bottom line, TB are not 2X champs for nothing! Winning the next 2 will be a grind but the Rangers have been very tough at home. We'll see tonight....

Just hope they can score early!

I'm too superstitious so I decided it was better for me not to post here. That didn't go so well so I'm back!

To win tonight we need Strom back and we need Fox to step it up. Actually, the entire team needs to show that fight that they have each time their back was to the wall.

This is the biggest game of a Ranger season in quite a while. The Garden is going to be Rockin! I still think we have the better goalie, and if the Rangers play the body more, and pass through that mid-ice trap, they will win!

I hope I didn't just jinx them.

I was feeling the same George
They need a big game all around from everybody
Not just one guy but the stars have to step up and be stars
I want to see them be faster and get to all the loose pucks and control the flow like in games 1 and 2
I’d also like to see Trouba get in a few hard clean mid ice hits and get in their heads!!!

Up against it now.
Can't win with Zabanajed 1 shot
Kid line 1 shot

4 goals last 3 games...need scoring. Been here before. 5-0 facing elimination

Overall I thought they played a good game. TB gave them no room.
Unfortunately, they are a step below the 2 time champs.
All 3 goals, not including the empty netter by TB, were odd and fluky.

With 6 or 7 minutes left they had a golden opportunity to go up 2-1 and Strome has got to bury that puck into the empty net.....

As time was winding down in the third, after hands of stone Strome whiffed on the open net, I had a feeling TB was going to repeat game 4 with a late goal. Yes, they played better, and they had their chances. I can't find fault in the effort. I wish there was more body...so many times, the NYR shy away from hits, while TB is playing the body every time. I commented to my kids on one particular play..#27 has the puck in the neutral zone along the boards...three different Rangers skate to him and try to stick check the puck away, no one makes contact, and the pass is completed into our zone. Then again, the NYR have never been that hard hitting play the body team, but that is playoff hockey. If you told me we keep Kutch, Stamkos, and Palat off the score sheet, I would think we win. So, we are back to elimination games where we have played well with our backs up against the wall. Will it be enough to get past TB at home tomorrow, with Vasalevskys unreal streak of winning eliminations games...his stats in these types of games are out of this world....something like 250 shots, and only giving up 1 goal in the past 6 games. If you want to be the best, you have to knock off the champs. The uphill battle continues.

When Strome missed that wide-open net I knew it was over. Tampa scored two lucky goals and was outplayed. But that's the game of hockey. Maybe it's just me but the way they're hitting almost looks like an All Star game to me. I don't get it at all. That up and down the ice in the third was crazy.

Another gut-wrenching loss.

With that said it's Tampa's time to lose!
