NY should build a Boat Ramp in Montauk

Right next to Star Island Marine ( on the road leading to the US Coast Guard Station ) there's about 5 acres of land and it would be perfect for a new boat launching ramp there. Last time I was out there the property was for sale. Couldn't the state buy that land with fishing fund money and put a ramp there ???? Google it and see. I remember going out there almost every weekend in the summer of 1972 and 1973 when my family had a boat out there. Went into those woods and shot my BB Guns.

They should also build a ramp in Orient State Park
Since you can no longer launch at Orient by the Sea

Peconic Bay/Orient offers almost the same quality fishing as Montauk does, but it would be nice having a ramp in Orient State Park and Montauk for those special occasions. There's no excuse not building one in a State Park , out in Montauk they might be able to build one at Hither Hills State Park or next to Star Island Marine. Just apply for the fishing fund money !!!! I get the feeling it's more than just the money, I think commercial interests are blocking new ramps. That new Peconic Bay ramp , the land was donated to them , they got money from fishing funds to build it and it took almost 10 years to build that ramp.

Every Marina in Montauk offers splash-in service. There's also a Town ramp that you can launch from but you can't park there. Driving South past Montauk Marine Basin on Westlake dr its on the left.
