As for the Olympic athletes, they're just roaring hypocrites. If you respect the country so little that you'll literally turn your back on it why are you there representing it? Could it be for all the benefits that they get from that? Hmmmm...?

EXACTLY THE nfl HIRED HIM TO PLAY FOOTBALL.....Not to salute "the land of the free and the home of the brave" and be a hypocrite in the face of reality!!

The olympics people are protesting the mistreatment of large segments of this society...not the country or the flag....it's what this country is all about ...civil protest!!! Like the Boston tea party

the sooner it's dealt with and not shrugged off...the sooner their is no reason for it......The country is homogenizing....the racists are being bred out

Add a few hours at palm beach international in the morning
I got plenty time to enjoy the show

Not one of those people ever said they were protesting the flag or the country. They are protesting the injustice and bigotry within the country....which is undeniable.

So why do major star/millionaires do this on the national stage? Because they have the audience to get the message across. If Leroy Johnson kneels down on 125th st....no one knows or cares

So lets hear it out and correct chit like the FLOYD disaster and it goes away

Playing the national anthem prior to sporting events is customary everywhere, and even foreigners will stand and not disrespect it just as we would do in their country or for their anthem. It's not their place or platform to protest on and you can rationalize all you want about their message, the optics is horrible. No rational person can look at what they're doing and think it only applies to a particular message. It shows a profound disdain for the country and all that it stands for, including the right to protest which they are symbolically cr@pping on with their protest.

Speaking of rationalizing, the country is hardly homogenizing, as much as certain racists would like it to, in a genocidal manner, BTW. We were actually doing a pretty good job of it for a while, until identity politics started dividing everybody into ever increasing factions. That would include playing an alternative racist anthem for some people as if they are not Americans also. Homogenizing and unifying my@$$.
 
If they don't want people protesting peacefully and respectfully during the anthem...change the words....."the land of the FREE and the home of the OPPRESSED" and everyones happy....

Everyone makes a big deal about the disrespect of the national anthem and no mention of what they are really protesting....which has nothing to do with the flag or anthem....those are just the props used to focus the protest with...and it works...everyone goes bat chit crazy!!!
 
I'll tell you one thing I've been fatigued with since I was about twelve, and that's the #*@¢¥π Olympics theme music. I often consider taking up knitting when I hear it, just I'll have needles handy to stab out my eardrums.
