No pix, but FINALLY had my limit of 3.5 - 5lb fish, fishing some rubble off JI. 'Bout time!

Anyway, Had Capt. Mike Bady and KenScot aboard the Lep today for a full 3-man boat limit to 5lbs, fishing the deep drops. Nasty-ass day, but paying attention paid big dividends.

Sailed yesterday to the deep with Capt. Mike Bady and Kenscot - had a slow morning, but finished up fairly strong with six keeps to 5lbs. It was strictly an Ebb Tide bite - which has been the pattern thru this early part of the season, so far.

No fish-ing pix from our last trip to the deep on the Lep - as we had no real "sea monsters," but how's about panko & floured fluke, dressed with peas, red onions, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, garlic and salt & pepper? Freakin' delish! Ms. Lep did it again!

Had 3 hours to fish the afternoon to sunset a couple days ago out of Debs. We tried 60-70' depths and small hard bottom pieces. Couldn't get away from the Sea Bass. Caught about a dozen keeper sea bass and only scrapped together about a dozen short fluke.

Nice 2 man limit of Fluke to 7# today. Looks like Montauk is finally hitting it's stride!

A 7-keeper near limit to 5lbs today for Kenscot and I fishing the JI deep drops - just couldn't pull that last "boxer," and believe me, we tried! Pretty good catch nonetheless, on a lovely day offshore.

The better fish wanted the Salmon "worms' today - here's the fiver:

Big improvement in NJ ocean fishing this week. My team took 2nd place in Pt. Pleasant Elks fluke tourney with fish up to 8.5 pounds. Two interesting by-catches for me: a Ribbonfish (Cutlass Fish) and a 5' Dusky on my light spinner Missed first place (and a small fortune) by a mere 3 ounces !
