Rare Cigars

TFT

New Angler
I have started to collect some really rare cigars.

Today I smoked a cigar where the tobacco was picked in 1980 and the stick was rolled in 1994.

I purchased 20 of them. Please dont ask how much.

The cigar is a Vegas Rubina. 100% cuban fill and wrapper rolled in Cuba as well.

I only smoke them on very special occasions.

Figured the new year was one of them.

The burn is inconsistent as is common on cigars as old as this one.

It was amazing. Starts out with a bad draw and not much flavor. By the end of the cigar its got tons of smoke and tastes like pepper and cherry with a touch of chocolate.
One of my favorite cigars I have ever smoked.

I paired it with a McCallan special edition #4 scotch.

Stay smokey.

Happy New Year to all.

I have a very good friend who owns a cigar company and is the marketing manager for another high end boutique cigar company.

He attends many auctions in person and online for rare cigars. From all over latin america.

When he sees something that is rare and unique we bid on them and sometimes get them.

2018 was a good one for me. I purchased the VR's that I smoked today. 1994 Monte #2 Habana. Fuente Don Carlos Riserva 1994 & 97. The Fuente Fuente Opus X first release 94 and 97.

I made one more purchase in 2018 for a box of Romeo and Julietta Cedros #3 Habana release. They are en route and I am done for a while!!

Kind of like buying fireworks. Expensive and it all goes up in smoke in the end!

I'm jealous.

Lets see what 2019 brings. I may be able to get some group buys on some nice sticks.

I just ordered some 20 year aged leaf in a robusto cigar. Nicaraguan leaf and construction.

If they are as good as I am told they should be readily available at a reasonable cost.

I will let you all know going forward!
