Should NY have a Minimum Property Tax that homeowners have to pay ?

I just think there should be a minimum property tax everybody in NY has to pay so it evens things out a bit. Newsday had an article years ago about the crazy state aid distribution in this state that heavily subsidizes counties upstate. Both Nassau and Suffolk Counties should have an income tax and a property tax to fund schools and local Government like NYC and Yonkers have.

Nassau is the highest taxed county in the nation, and that's not enough for you?

BTW, I don't support the level of taxation, but people here must love taking it in the tush because they could actually vote against a school budget once in a while.
