Had an "interesting" morning today. Started down in the harbor at the International Whack-A-Mole Tournament. I won my initial round with a nice, fat 26" fish, lost my second round when I dropped a fish and then came up goose egg twice as casting on top of a feeding fish didn't elicit any response.
Got bored with the game and decided to go to a different arcade. I figured it was a good time to check out some of my upriver spots that were tide appropriate, wondering if there was any action up there. Went up to "Old Faithful", "The NFW You Get Skunked at Mid Ebb Spot", dropped the hook and started casting. 30 minutes and 3 lure changes later, I clearly answered my 1st question, "NOPE, there ain't no bass up here" and decided to head back to the barn.
As a point of information, last September, at this very spot, I saw a quahog fall off my anchor when retrieving it. From that observation, I dug many beautiful clams in this area from Oct - Apr, the season for this location. Lately I've been questioning if others might have discovered this spot and illegally dug them during the summer. Well that question was answered when I found this beauty lodged between my anchor's flukes!! Come October's very low New Moon Tides, I'm out there...
