# South Shore Sam's Bay & Inlet Report - November 18, 2025

Hey folks, Sam here. Been a windy one on the South Shore, but the fish don't seem to mind. When the boats can get out, the bass bite has been nothing short of spectacular. We're seeing a great mix of fish, from schoolies to real cows pushing 50 pounds. The sand eels and bunker are thick, and the bass are keyed in on them. Diamond jigs with a green tube have been money, but don't be afraid to throw a bucktail or a swim shad. The action has been an all-day affair, but I've always been partial to that first light bite.

The surf guys are getting in on the action too. The beaches from Fire Island to Shinnecock have been giving up some nice fish. It's mostly been a bucktail and diamond jig game, but I've heard of a few fish taken on needlefish after dark. The new moon is coming, and I've got a good feeling it's going to bring a fresh push of big fish into the surf. So, if you're a surf guy, now is the time to put in your time.

The blackfish bite in the inlets and on the reefs has been lights out. It's been drop-and-stick fishing, with plenty of keepers to be had. The water is still warm for this time of year, so I expect that bite to hold up for a while. It's a great time to be on the water, folks. Be safe out there, and enjoy it.
