Star Tron Ring Cleaner + vs Yamalube Ring Free +

Learned Colleagues:

Since I rarely get my 115 Yammie 4-stroke out of the harbor and open her up, I find myself battling carbon deposits. My Yammie service tech recommended the Yamalube Ring Free + fuel additive, but my pocket, and great success with the Starbrite Startron fuel additive, would like to use Star Tron Ring Cleaner +. If you do a side by side comparison, the only difference is "sulfur". The Yammie product makes a big deal about its removal and the importance of that, while the Star Tron says it gets rid of all ethanol-related deposits.

Any of you out there use either of these two products and have had good success??

I use the Yammie Ring Free and regular startron in the bluish clear bottle for my 200 OX66. Not sure if its overkill but it works for me and at this point I'm afraid to change or do anything different.

Have you had issues with carbon build up on the plugs ?

No, but gunked up oil attributed to carbon buildup all over. Last season I would only motor 1/4 mile at 800 RPM to fish day out/day in...

NOT overkill, but Startron enzymes will chew up any of that goopy crap that ethanol can form in your fuel line. I've been using the "Blue Bottle" for years and never anything gunking up fuel filters.

I swear by the bluish bottle, and I was just going to ask if you could use the ring free along with it?

Chinacat doesn't seem to have a problem with it, see above...
