Noticed last night at high tide in Moriches. Going to be a flood event. And if the rainfall total is high, well, even more so.

And let’s not forget the full moon on Saturday.

Should be a major flooding event.

Doesn't sound great. One of the main reasons I chose my current Freeport marina was that the dock poles that locate the finger slips were extra tall. After going thru Sandy (and to a lesser extent, Irene the year before), and nearly losing my boat behind my friend's house in Seaford, this was a prime determinant in my slip selection.

Definitely looks like high tides and flooding will be an issue

This morning at high tide it was a bit more than a foot below the dock. We've got two days to go.

I'm going to crank up on the mooring whips and hang my hat on the premise that NE wind doesn't push the boat into the dock.

Sigh. Tide tonight; Higher, but still not over the dock. Major nonsense is Saturday. So, still 48 hours and four cycles of anxiety.

Received information that old inlet is washing over already. The bay was so alive and clear when it was previously opened. We shall see if it stays open for any amount of time.

Buddy of mine had a Subaru WRX. He unknowingly drove into Lindenhurst to drop someone off during a Noreaster with High Tide. Went through a deep enough puddle and she stalled further down the block.
Turns out a computer was on the floor board and shorted out.
In the end, Insurance totaled the car even though it ran because of the saltwater. I talked him out of keeping it.
We nicknamed the car "Scubaru"

Switched to 3 to beat the brunt of it
Turns out its the last boat grom NL before they shut down early
