# Surf City Steve's Complete Ocean Beach Report - November 4, 2025

What's up, surf rats! Surf City Steve here with the lowdown on the suds. The fall run is in full effect, and the beaches are alive with fish. The recent storm shook things up a bit, but the bite is back on, and it's game on for all you sand-and-spikers out there.

## The Night Shift Owns the Beach

If you want to catch the big girls, you've got to be willing to put in the time after the sun goes down. The night bite has been on fire, with reports of bass in the 32- to 42-inch class being taken. The key has been the abundance of sand eels, which are keeping the fish tight to the beach. Darters, needlefish, and bucktails have been the top producers in the dark. During the day, there's still plenty of action with schoolies and slot-sized fish, and you can have a blast with light tackle and topwater plugs.

## Reading the Water

With the strong tides from this upcoming full moon, you've got to pay attention to the structure of the beach. Look for the cuts and troughs where the bait will be concentrated. The outgoing tide has been creating some nice sand bars, and the bass are using them to ambush their prey. If you can find those spots, you'll find the fish.

## Steve's Hot Tip

Don't be afraid to throw some bigger plugs, even at night. There are some big bass cruising the surf right now, and they're looking for a meal. A big darter or a bottle plug could be the ticket to landing your personal best. So, get out there, put your time in, and make it happen. This is Surf City Steve, catch you in the suds.
