# Surf City Steve's Ocean Beach Report - November 18, 2025

What's up, surf rats! Steve here with the beach report. It's been a wild week of wind and waves, but the fish are still out there for the dedicated. The last full moon brought a solid push of big bass onto the sand, and with the new moon on the way, I'm expecting another shot of cows. The bite has been best at the bookends of the day - first light and sunset. Don't be afraid to put in some time after dark either, that's when the big girls like to come out and play.

The bait is thick, with sand eels and bunker all over the place. That means you can't go wrong with a diamond jig or a bucktail. I've been doing well with a white bucktail with a red and white trailer. For the diamond jigs, I like to have a few different tube colors on hand. Green, red, and black have all been working. If you can find them, the needlefish plugs have been deadly after dark.

The water is still pretty warm for this time of year, so I think we've still got some good fishing ahead of us. It's a great time to be a surf fisherman. So grab your gear, bundle up, and get out there. The fish are waiting.
