My son, now a College Soccer Coach, did some refereeing in his early teens. He came back one day shaking HFH saying, "Dad, when will Americans ever learn soccer basics?"

"What happened?"

"Well this kid was on a breakaway, got hauled down as he shot, but the shot went in. The coach was screaming for a penalty kick. I told him to give him a penalty shot, I'd have to disallow the goal.
