Woman Swallowed by Python as She Checked on Her Cornfield

When Wa didn't return, her sister went out to find her and found Wa's footprints, flashlight, slippers and machete. On Friday, 100 villagers from Persiapan Lawela searched the area and found a 23 foot-long snake with a very swollen belly. The villagers killed the snake, cut it open and found Wa inside intact.

That’s not a way I would choose to go, if I had a choice.

re: Wader's post above: on Cuttyhunk Island, which has no dump, EVERYTHING needs to be ferried to and fro the mainland. to reduce the production of garbage and encourage recycling, the only bags accepted by the island's trash hauler must be purchased from the Town of Gosnold for $5 (EACH). You can be certain that policy reduces trash volume substantially and encourages both recycling and composting. Realistically, every town should employ the same system. Consumers abuse "free" resources but are forced to think about their behavior when it costs them money.

PSSSST, Mr. Parker. Their is No FREE rubbish or garbage removal. Bath residents pay for our dump, (millions). Pay for our New dump site (Millions). Pay for our Blue bags (5 bags for $ 6.00) Pay for an independent company to pick up and handle our rubbish. (recycling). If all i had to pay for was bags for $5. each i would be one happy camper. Im the guy that has to pay for Islands, Unorganized territories, and all the folks on welfare.

Yeah i would Love to pay Just $5.00 a bag. :sneaky:

Police ask people to 'hold off' on crimes during heat wave: 'We will all meet again on Monday when it's cooler'

Due to rising temperatures that have a reported 157 million people under heat warnings, Massachusetts police are asking people to “hold off” on committing crimes until the weather cools off.

The Braintree Police Department posted the proposition to aspiring criminals, on Facebook Friday. “Folks. Due to the extreme heat, we are asking anyone thinking of doing criminal activity to hold off until Monday,” read the post. “It is straight up hot as soccer balls out there. Conducting criminal activity, in this extreme heat is next level henchmen status, and also very dangerous.”

Besides whatever is built into my property tax, we don't pay nothing Don. Course I have to schlep it all down to the Transfer Station (Mainese for DUMP. One transfers their garbage to the town for them to dump).

Ain’t no different here on east end of LI. You either gotta pay a private carter or buy town bags to bring your non recyclables to the transfer station. Recyclables get separated and put into the proper dumpster/trailer

It's about freakin' time............................

Thank you Jon Stewart & the 9/11 Responders who were able drag themselves to Washington despite their illnesses to make this happen. Rand Paul & Mike Lee should not only be ashamed of themselves but run out of office..............

Senate Passes Bill To Replenish 9/11 Victim Fund

The bipartisan 9/11 victim compensation bill, which passed through the House earlier this month with overwhelming support, faced a delay last week after Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) blocked a unanimous consent request to expedite its passage. The Kentucky Republican objected to the measure due to fiscal concerns, calling on the Senate to first debate an amendment that would offset the costs of the fund.

Stewart, a longtime advocate for 9/11 first responders and former host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” eviscerated Paul after he objected to the bill. The comedian accused the senator of “fiscal responsibility virtue signaling” after voting in favor of President Donald Trump’s $1.5 trillion tax cut in 2017, which added billions of dollars to the national deficit.

“It’s absolutely outrageous,” Stewart said. “Now he stands up at the last minute after 15 years of blood, sweat and tears from the 9/11 community to say that it’s all over. Now we’re going to balance the budget on the backs of the 9/11 first responder community.”

The Senate rejected Paul’s amendment, as well as a similar one from fellow fiscal hawk Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), before passing the bill on Tuesday.

HRH Charles, Prince of Wales did a promo stint a few years ago suggesting that Brits eat more grey squirrels as this "exotic specie" from the US was crowding out the native British squirrel population. True Story!!
