this is where my mom was born...I was there as a baby


Great town, always enjoyed heading down there and giving guest lectures at University College Galway, suitably attired in a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches, one of my "Bucket List" items. Just prior to returning to the states they offered me an Adjunct Professorship, which I had to reluctantly turn down.

When we first got to Ireland in 1994 it Galway was the nearest McDonalds from where we lived. When I would do presentations about our plant, one of the "Disadvantages" I would cite was "Remoteness", which the HR Director took exception too. "Bill, good luck trying to convince any Yank that when the nearest McDonalds is 2 hours away you're not in a remote location!!"
 
Just fired up the blower. Put the windshield cover on her car. Moved the calcium chloride bin close to the door and brought the snow brushes in from the garage.

Did the food shopping yesterday. There was a line of about 50 people standing outside of Shoprite.
 
that's funny....I also made the news when I went in 1956 I was 6 weeks old and youngest person to fly the Atlantic on a commercial airline....no kidding!!

hell...I was one of them there anchor babys...born in the US and flew back to Ireland
