Love cruising, but I'm married to Admiral Horatia Lunchblower, so ocean cruises are limited to very protected waters.

My Mom was like me, and my Dad like my Admiral. We went with them on a NY to Bermuda Cruise. Had a stiff North wind up against the Northward flowing Gulf Stream, so guess what? Dad in his cabin, Admiral in ours, both lying in bed, while Mom and I had a lovely lunch of Thai food in the main dining room, LOL...

Yeah, I remember that, it was part of everyone getting dressed up in their new, Christmas dress outfits and going off to church. IIRMC, the florist shops would have many pre-made ones for you to walk in and pick up.

Just another Ancient Ritual that has thankfully been buried under the desert sands...
