Just dropped off the day laborer. Really nice guy. He couldn’t finish the job but got a lot done. This fireplace was built to withstand a tank running over it. I was really worried the guy was going to get heat stroke or worse.

I had a roof put on my last house - no permt required (15+ years ago).
Had an extension done on my other house in KP - no permit - no inspection by the county (20+ years ago).

That's the only major things I had done up in NY.

First permit here was for reroofing the house & I thought it odd as I didn't have to get one for reroofing in Kings Park.

Redoing a roof doesnt require a permit here except maybe in some if the most restrictive smaller villages
If you had en extension put on without a permit that sounds like someone did it without filing the proper work

I left the whole thing to the contractor.
