Lot of activity in & around the neigborhood lately................

In addition to the 20 houses they're building at the end of the block (which are selling as fast as they put 'em up) there's one on the opposite corner being rebuilt by a couple from NJ. Almost a rebuild from the ground up. And I've got a bunch of Amish Contractors putting one up directly across the street from me.

How do I know they're Amish? They're dressed for the part. They all look like this incuding the suspenders & hats.

And boy they are hard working & fast. They're there at 8am & don't leave until 6. Put in the whole cinder block foundation in a day. 2 feet below grade & 2 feet above grade.

Like I said - they're quick - this morning it was just a foundation.........................
No power tools - no nail gun - no electric saws - simply hammersa & hand saws.

Been there, done that, seen it, and yes it caused an early cessation to a trip, but the funny thing that it didn't hurt at all going in, and thanks to a ton of Novocaine, didn't hurt going out. On the other hand my ego was severely wounded...

Sitting here wondering WTF is wrong with me. Didn't head out before dawn because it was raining a bit, and just got dressed and headed to the boat, but when I got to the dock I said, "F this chit, I'm going back to have some more coffee."

This is not normal behavior, wonder if I'm coming down with something. Probably just frustration with the fishing as of late. I continue to catch at least one or two bass per trip, but they're taking some a ton of concerted effort. Maybe my son was right when he was in HS, trying to convince us not to retire in Maine with his "And Dad, fishing every day? You're going to get bored."?? A comment that had me immediately drop to the floor in convulsive laughter...

Whew, now I'm feeling better, I'll fish this evening and tomorrow's weather and tide are far more conducive...

Alive at Five in Patchogue. Band I think was Fast Five. Set up at the west end in front of the courthouse.

So if I misbehaved, they could bring me right in for arraignment.

We got there early as a band was setting up at the east end of main street at Maple Avenue. Did not catch the name, but a bunch of very young guys all dressed in Hawaiian shirts.

I wish I could get more. My daughter was at a concert at Bald Hill and they were selling them. She was lucky she could even get one!
