Same here. I've been putting off cleaning the little patio area next to the garage, so I'm cutting back the Rhododendron, raking out dead leaves and getting set to toss the old, rotten firepit and some kid toys that I was hoping to find a taker for.

I've got the world on my plate lately and I'm just tired of trying to fix everything.

Next, get the new firepit going and start getting rid of excess firewood.

Frequent breaks in the A/C indoors. Lots of water, and I have a fan in the garage window that runs in either direction. So working on the patio or in the garage I had air movement. As long as I stood right in front of it.

I don't think I would have survived without it.

It's a window A/C and a fan. Unless your house has no electricity you should be able to manage a luxury or two.

Our main floor window A/C was given to me by the office next door who was throwing it out. That was lucky because the A/C the contractor left behind was way too small for the space.

Only one problem. It's 240V and we don't have a 240V outlet near there. Although I guess I could unplug the stove and run a ridiculous extension cord.

So Mr. Wizard takes a 240V receptacle and wires it into a box with two 120V plugs. Then all I had to do was find two wall receptacles on opposite phases. Voila, cold air on the relative cheap.

We will get a split system at some point. At least that's what we keep saying.

My box is antiquated needs to be upgraded $$ I dont have wish I could Im use to working in the heat with no AC at work guess it doesent bother me as much when Im home working

Everybody has a different tolerance and you're lucky you're acclimated to that. I could stand to lose some of the insulation I'm carrying, but I'd probably still need to come in once an hour for a 15 minute cool down and a couple of glasses of water.

Oh, and the nice thing about 240V is it only draws about nine amps, so it's not really straining the system.

PSE&G seems to adjust the prices according to how much you don’t use. I managed to get my bill to $80 a month with every saving feature from LED bulbs to inverter tech AC. So they came up with excuses to bump it up to $130.

Mine was $110 got bumped to $130

I was only talking about the loading on the wires. Not the thievery of the utility. It's amazing how they run all these programs to help reduce usage, you know, saving the planet and all that, and then surprise! they're selling less electricity. Where'd all the money go?

If you think that's bad, try running a business that uses industrial electric motors. Wait until you find out what a demand meter is. Another New York racket.
