The Onancock Chronicles the Eastern shore

Was this on Market St. ?

building runs from Market to King -largest building in Town - collapse happened on the King Street side - they were on the roof in the front of the building on Market - I arrived late (stopped at the bank) or I would have been under that pile of debris on King that you see in the picture - I worked out of that section directly below where it came down

I'm (or at least my tee shirt covered chest is in the video wearing the Boston College tee shirt) around the 1 minute mark.

Damn,close call for you..

yeah - they were all freaking out - they didn't realize I hadn't arrived yet as they were on the roof (reporter was wrong - they were not roofers - just our regular workers redoing the roof) - while I'm at the bank my cell starts going off

Brit: "Are you alright mate?"
Me: "Yeah. Why?"
Brit: "You're not hurt? Can you breathe? Anything broken or bleeding?"
Me: "What??"
Brit: "Can you breathe? We're trying to dig toward you."
Me: "What?"
Brit: "We're digging toward you."
Me: "WTF are you talking about?"
Brit: "The building collapsed. How do you not know that?"
Me: "You're kidding right?"
Brit: "No. Where the f are you?"
Me: "On line at the bank at the ATM getting the funds out for payroll."
Brit: "You're not in the building?"
Me. "No. You aren't kidding about it collapsing are you? Anyone hurt?"
Brit: "No. We saw a red Jeep like yours in the parking lot. Thought you were in there."
Me: "No. At the bank. I'll be there as soon as I finish."

Hung up & the phone goes off again. it was the Financial Guy asking the same question, "Are you alright?"
Then my brother called because it somehow made the news in Richmond & he recognized the building.

Must have been a slow news day in Virginia.

not the same

just came across this looking for something else - the Brit's building making the news 5 years ago

And why pray tell would you mention something from 5 years ago??? Has the lack of "Honky Tonking" wrecked havoc with psyche?

Maybe you should resurrect something from your own past, like go fishing??? Lots of posting "Fromacock", but never a fish report...

Because I came across it by accident & felt like posting it.
Why don't you go bother someone else?

I texted them the number on there site, she replied that they don't have a store front and sell wholesale only, there add is very misleading..

depending on when/if it gets close enough - extreme high tides -at this point - no ones seems to be talking it up

I should see about getting the old gas out of my generator just in case.

Mack - made two attempts to check your residence due to flooded roads & downed trees - succeeded on the second try. After a quick walk around the property looks like the only thing you lost was a tree in the back that came mighty close to hitting the house.

Capt13 - you already got your report - boat was still where I left it.

Didn't get much rain (which was badly needed - maybe an inch?). Got a ridiculous amount of wind (which we didn't need) that caused a lot of coastal flooding on the Bay side. Ocean side looked pretty good no flooding that I could find. Must have gone straight up the Chesapeake. Surprisingly Wachapreague was completely dry. That normally always goes underwater.

30% of the power company's clients (11,000) were without power . Gradually being restored now.

Thanks wader, was it a big tree as far as you could tell on the west side of the house?

if you're looking at the back of the house from the canal - it was to the right - decent size - kinda split down the middle - missed contact with the house by about 2/3 feet probably because if broke off about 3 to 4 feet up from the ground - had it gone from the ground probably would have hit the house
