That would be "Ludicrous Speed" even with special green lights from the FDA like they gave for the Swine Flu vaccine, which was more of a variations on a theme project. Here we have a new virus with little understanding of the caustive bug's mechanisms of infection, transcription, replication and release.

First, who owns the patent to the nucleic acid sequence and/or the virus itself? I assume that it's some group in China. Wonder if they're worked out the licensing terms. That in itself may take until Chirstmas...

I love the small Biotech companies that reported vaccine candidates last month. There was one in MA that did that and their stock doubled overnight, which was probably exactly what they waned to happen.

Of course Roccus the Cynic did some quick company research and got the expected results of:

0 products on the market
0 products in clinical trials
0 licensed facilities to manufacture vaccines or drugs

To make their "we got one ready for clinical trials" ready to ship even more hysterical was the vaccine's methodology. They have some fancy novel cellular RNA blocking/inhibiting technology that has never been used in a vaccine or drug. Therefore their vaccine would be totally novel and there would be NO "variations on a well-documented process" claims to speed up their approval process. Therefore their "look at us" announcement was just a cry for a stock bump and/or VC interest, and it might even get some SEC interest too...

BTW, don't lose hope, Fauci said there were vaccines on the horizon, probably within a year. I'd bet some of the 5 biggest vaccine manufacturers, if not all, are working on candidate vaccines. Yeah, they're not making noise about it because they've dealt with the SEC before and they need to figure out what their vaccine can or can't do, along how it's similar/different with current vaccines. Once they have all these data, they can apply to FDA for Fast Tracking approval.

And one more sobering thought for all. COVID-19 is the same viral family as the Common Cold. I don't know about you, but I don't know of a successful Cold Vaccine, do you??? Some of these little buggers have the ability to prevent the manufacture of effective and long-lasting immunity...

I’m confused Roccus
I thought the president of the USA stood in front of a podium the other day and assured everybody everything’s OK and a vaccine will be out and ready very soon????
That’s odd because from what I read around here I thought he was a stand up guy that always told the truth???

Two Comments:
  1. "SOON" is relative and 12-18 months is "Captain, My Poor Engines!! Warp 8 Mr. Scott!!" FAST in the vaccine world.

  2. When was the last time that ANY politician ever told the truth??? That's about the most bipartisan Rule of Thumb that one can make about US politics at this point.

Market was tilted too heavy to the LONG side at the close (long in the hole) late buyers etc. the market punishes them the next day.....the exact opposite when it closes on the LOWS....shorts get punished sometime during the next day...inventory adjustment....GOOD LUCK everyone

CRUISE LINES GOT HAMMERED!!!! If that ship in san francisco thats quarantined and has its passengers being tested comes back fine then the cruise lines will rally today.......if the overall market closes under the lows we already had today....GERONIMO....IF EVER THERE WAS A DAY FOR A MUCH NEEDED RALLY THIS IS IT....OR MONDAY AND TUESDAY COULD SEE REAL panic SELLING
