Senate passes $1.9 trillion Covid relief bill, including $1,400 stimulus checks, with no (fill in the blank) support​

The House must pass the amended legislation before it heads to President Joe Biden for his signature.

The far-reaching legislation includes $1,400 stimulus checks, $300-per-week jobless benefits through summer, a child allowance of up to $3,600 for one year, $350 billion for state aid, $34 billion to expand Affordable Care Act subsidies and $14 billion for vaccine distribution.


The final vote was 50-49 along party lines,

PLUS 1.0T still not spent!! Only 10% for COVID. Should have called it the "Stimulus to Friends Package" Went to a friends restaurant on Saturday and asked why the owner's wife and family were hustling around.....................................Answer - "with all the free money, NOBODY WANTS TO WORK!" I feel for all business owners after this weekend's disaster!
 
the biggest mistake they could make upon inheriting this disaster is be TOO LATE.....and going TOO SMALL!! GO BIG or go home!!! We are looking at an economic BOOOM soon with the economy and covid being dealt with finally!! The debt issue will have to be kicked down the road as usual....unfortunately we are going into these rescue measures at RECORD debt already!!!!
 
Not to mention less people are getting checks due to changes in eligibility. I am specifically talking about the $1400. They should give it to every citizen regardless of income, etc. Rich people would invest it and the market would go up, people that need it would spend it on essentials.

Beg to differ, but not permitted to further discuss. Actually agree (real scary) about the debt. Each time it just gets kicked down the road. Would have liked to see the est. 1 Trillion not yet in the system put to use, would have been better to wait. Plus, take the 1.9T x the actual COVID 10% piece, that would have been sufficient to start. The states with heavy taxes and thus 2X the spending that are in a jam, no more money. Figure it out, change how you do business. I only need a pen and a napkin to figure it out. The economy is starting to move as states and the rest of the world opens up. And be open to add more where needed. Pretty simple.
