Job creation was weaker than expected in January, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.

Nonfarm payrolls rose by 143,000 for the month, down from an upwardly revised 307,000 in December and below the 169,000 forecast from Dow Jones.

The Trump administration will pose a “wild card” for the market, BD8 Capital Partners CEO Barbara Doran said Thursday on CNBC’s “Closing Bell: Overtime.”

Expect “volatility in the market, particularly with valuations where they are in general for the market,” she said.

Palantir (PLTR) shares surged to an all-time high Thursday, extending gains earlier in the week after the company gave a stronger-than-expected outlook on growing demand for its Artificial Intelligence Platform.


Shares of Palantir climbed nearly 10% to a closing record of $111.28 on Thursday after more than quadrupling in value over the past year. The stock led gains in the Nasdaq 100 and was one of the best-performing stocks in the S&P 500 Thursday.


Several analysts have raised their price objectives for the stock since Palantir on Monday gave a strong forecast for 2025, with Bank of America, Citi, UBS, Wedbush, Morgan Stanley and others boosting their targets.1


Palantir on Thursday also announced it would integrate Grok, the chatbot from Elon Musk’s xAI, into its Artificial Intelligence Platform.2

Flippy - the Market sold off last Friday (and the Friday before) - ripped from this Monday to 10am today. This is the trading we get. Plus - we were nearing a top, so the pullback is healthy.

Only 1 trade today for me, shorted ES at 6120.75 (yes I caught the top at 9:54am) closed out at 10:02 for 22 handles and was done for the day.

Thx. Had a f'in phone call come it at exactly 10am and stupid me answered it and just closed this position out in haste. Fucked me up! And the rest of the day was pretty much the same other BS and couldn't focus on trading. I need to put my phone off when I trade!!

Today was a busy day and my concentration was not fully on trades. Same thing. Phone would not stop.
