The stock market

Zoltar says, "You don't lose anything until you sell. No use crying over loss of value, it, like increase in value, is nothing until you finalize."

oh crap - made the mistake of looking at my Wells Fargo account..........

Down over $10,000 today - down over $26,000 since the end of February.

Hope that account holds some bonds, otherwise that account's overall 20% drop based on the Mid Feb S&P is damn close to dropping below 6 figures...

So yesterday's loss was the worst since Black Monday, but once again it's all relative. I worked for a very solid company for years and that drop took our stock from 60 to 40 overnight. I hadn't been there long enough to have much stock, but the next day I had to meet with someone who had almost 40 years in, a truly wonderful person. He had stock options and had been paid in stock in many of his early years. Needless to say he was worth millions and lost a few million over night.

When I walked into his office instead of being greeted by someone in morning, I got a cheerful, "Hi Dom, how ya doing?"

"Crap George, for someone who had to have lost over a million dollars last night, you seem exceedingly cheerful!"

"Let me tell you something, my personal investment per share is under $4, so yeah I lost a ton of money, but I still have a tidy sum. Why should I be depressed??"

I''m painfully aware of that - doesn't mean I've lost value - that be what I'm talking about. The question is - how long is it going to take for it to recover to at least pre virus value - it's not like I'm still working, drawing a salary & have 10 years
or so to years or so to wait for it to recover like in wait for it to recover.

Guy on tv mentioned EL saying traffic in stores in China was non existent but online sales were terrific....just that they can't fill and deliver the orders

Boy that came out garbled:

Should have read:

that was Fox Business News, I saw that too... cellie...

not worried about Lauder - not pulling on that & that is not in my Wells Fargo Accounts. I own that independently. Have never touched that other then to cover my daughter's college. Don't plan on touching it.

It's going to be a gift to my daughter if she gets married - or - goes to her in the event of my untimely death. Which the way the Market's going - could potentially be sometime next week.
