the "What are you doing NOW" thread (part deux)

just got back from the market - had to go out in all this rain - needed fresh mozzarella for tonight's menu - really coming down - lot of flooding - been a down pore since around 4 am this morning - almost no rain in 4 months & today we're getting it all in one day

Fess up, did you do this on your own volition or were you "guided"???
Slight nudge from the warden. I just needed to sort through all of my stuff. I had so many items of clothing that I hardly ever wore for one reason or another. So I finally bit the bullet on that.

After she complained that we needed a house with more space I told her she needed to sort through all the crap that she has hung onto. Mainly clothing that doesn’t fit my kids anymore. That was roughly 9 totes of baby clothes that are now in about 13 garbage bags. Going to bring those to Salvation Army this week. A few bags at a time. Good to help others in need and get a little tax deduction. I could probably sell it all individually and make some cash but who has the time for that?

My plan is to hit the garage and shed next weekend. I’m definitely going to need a new box of contractor bags.

After that I have a few outdoor projects to complete before winter sets in and I should be pretty good to go.

You are a brave man.

That's quite a ramp ..... what's your tide range up there ?

Extreme Full/New Moon = 14 ft! You can literally watch the tide move. My dock is about + 1 ft to MLW and I can get out at MLW + 0.6 ft. Need about MLW + 1.4 for a relatively easy return to the dock. Lower than that, it's a "carrier landing", a control crash straight into the dock instead of turning the boat out to sea before docking. Boat sits on the mud for the negative tides, BUT there's always water around it, albeit 1/4" for the MLW - 2 moon tides.

Ramp long because DMR didn't want me to have a walkway that would have sections on the bottom during almost every low tide so asked for the longer ramp instead of a shorter one + walkway. Turns out they did me a HUGE favor. Walking up the more gentle incline of the longer ramp at low tide is far more forgiving instead of going vertical up a shorter ramp.
