Tog Sh!t - A "SERIOUS" Discussion

I'd really like to make this rod serve two purposes like that last BS702 we made. Deep water fluke jigging and light jigging for tog.

Eddie - Gebby got rid of everything up here and moved lock, stock and barrel to Costa Rica. His pics are epic - when he sends them.

As an aside, I don't think finding "3 Chippies" is a big get down there. They LOVE gringo dollars in CR - especially the senoritas.

No "Yankee Go Home" in Costa Rica. Not yet, anyway.

Pete, I've been "privvy" to Gebby's pics as he's documenting his life on FB like every good teenager does...But I saw a ton of stuff from Colorado too and thought that was where he hightailed it to...

I have a good buddy who goes down to CR about 5-10 times a year to fish. No doubt in my mind if he wasn't married with 2 kids, he'd have moved down there permanently by now. He has asked me to go with him like 50 times but he's a high-roller and he likes to "treat his friends" a little too extravagantly and I don't feel comfortable with that scenario.

Like you said, they are big on Gringo's down there and the money those Gringo's bring with them. Many Americans have pulled the plug in the States and moved down to CR because they see the direction this country is headed with these Socialist / Marxist DemoRATS! Smart people with cash to spare certainly don't want the Dems "redistributing" their hard-earned buccaroos to illegal immigrants and loafers here.

It might be something for me to think about as retirement gets more realistic.

Gebby temporarily moved to Colorado to be with his son, who was quite ill at the time. He ex-pat'ed to Costa Rica after his son's danger had passed.

I have a few customers that went and said it was just ok..They said Korea has a big commercial fishing fleet and its hurt the fishing...They went to panama and said the fishing is great ..That they value the sport fishing and the money it brings into the country...

I really dont know thats why I ask...

I heard CR recently has garnered a reputation for being a drug trafficking "hub" in the last few years. No idea how true that is but I don't like the sound of it.

This past season I wrapped a BH Cape Cod Tai blank and matched it with a size 80 baitcaster from Daiwa, a CA80.
Great fun. Didn't het out as much as should have due to motor problems, but when I did, it was always fun hooking anything on that ultra lite set up.

My lite Tog set ups.
A G Loomis C723 GL2 I wrapped almost 20 years ago with a Daiwa Lexa 100L.

The Black Hole Cape Cod Tai with a Daiwa CA80.

And a BH 701L with Daiwa Fuego 100.

Lite tackle Toggin is where the fun is. ?
