I have a 200, 250, 275, bailess, if ya dont go swimming with em, you’ll be ok. The reel isn’t up to it standards of being waterproof,.. and the warranty of one year is pathetic.. any little water inside will rust up and freeze the handle bearings.. learn to make ya own inspections very regularly rather than wasting $$$ for its annual checkups nonsense... cellfish...

The 50s compared to the other VRs are much different imo,I hate my vr125 but love my vr50. I have fished it from bass and blues to fluke and porgy fishing

Bought one and had to return it. For me there is not enough clearance between bail wire and my knuckles. Probably not an issue paired with a light surf rod, but for any inshore application make sure you mount to the rod you plan on using before purchase
