Vegetable garden

never did the corn it pots ,, look on you tube it can be done,, this pot is 2feet+ across and atlease 36in+deep with good potting soil,,,, corn roots are not that long,,,,,,,,,,,do any planting in your veg garden,,,,,talk soon,,,,,,,,,,, ><))):>

We did not plant our garden yet but have prepped everything ( pics tomorrow) .
I did place some sunflower seedlings in a few pots but not sure they are going to make it, they dont look good, I will send pics.

Prepped and ready, will get some plants from local greenhouses tomorrow tot Tuesday. Did some scouting last week.

We like a garden center in Patchogue called fantastic gardens on Avery ave, we all like locust Avenue farm in Bohemia.

the General has a great garden center in his town on Montauk Hywy.

check out what happened to all my seeded sunflower plants, I had a bunch of them growing nicely in seedling containers and when I transplanted them to pots Sunday they all keeled over.

jack sunflowers dont like to be transplanted at any size,, there hard to transplant most of the time ,, have to direct the seeds right where you want them,, in the ground or in pots,, they dont like to be disturbed,,,,,if you have more seeds you have time to reseed,,the sunflowers take about 3months to get the flowerheads,,, and the size of the heads,, bigger the pots bigger the flower heads

I've started them in small "peat pots". When they get to a decent size (inch or two high) I plant the entire thing in the ground.
 
pics this morning,,,,i have about 8 pumpkin seeds growing in pots,, small broccoli heads already,,,,boston lettuce,green and red....green romain and red romain,, green leaf,, and dont forget my corn field hahaha ? :LOL: ><)))):>

Thanks Joe...they are trying to come back but I took your advice and reseeded in ground and pots today.
 
leaf miners on the mojoe beet leafs,, sucking all the juice from the leafs,,,only thing you can do is the cut all the leafs off that have them,,they lay like 200 eggs on the back of the leafs and the boar into the leafs ,,,our spinach plants had some,, not to bad,,,ill keep an eye on the beets in days to come,,, hope there alright now,,, filled a sandwich bag full of the bad leafs,, this is what it looks like,,,,,,,,,,,,, ><)))):>
