Ward Melville Show 2020 edition

Speaking of which, last year BoatGuy mentioned it would have been nice to have met others from this website at WMHS. Except for George, Propeller John and one or two others, no go. This year I will be "modelling" a dark blue hoodie with the NYAngler.com front and back, but call me Artie or Pequa One as tapping me on the shoulder scares the absolute hell out of me !

WOW! Good memory!

I’ll be there for a bit. Capt Mike Bady asked that I man his table for a half hour while he hob-knobs with the other Capts. I wonder what they talk about? Probably the rest of us, I bet. Anyway, come say Hi. Look for the black Mets cap and the perpetual scowl. 8-)

So ummmm....
You going to take advantage of that table to put out some of your "clearance" items??:p8-)

Not the worst idea I’ve heard this week. But no, Mike’s thing is Mike’s thing - and at my advanced age I’ve learned to respect “boundaries.”

Unless we’re on the fluke grounds, that is. “Hey you kids, get off my lawn, errr, drop!” Now where’s that “old man shaking his fist” emoji?

I need to see some pics of that hoodie! You really don't seem like the hoodie type to me

Well have that public affairs team of yours seek me out tomorrow ! I am wearing a similarly embroidered tee underneath it !

Shuttle ? Full Gospel Christian Church, 417 Old Town Rd Port Jefferson Station, NY
(its maybe a 1/4 mile from the south entrance to the High School, just across the street and you can see one from the other.) Last year an old yellow school bus was used.

My first time to the show. I got there just before 2. I only had an hour and 15 minutes before they started to shut things down. It seems kind of silly to end it so early. It was a great show from what I had a chance to see.

I won't go to any other show. Its like Disneyland for fishermen ! Satellite parking lot was almost full, a big change from last year when I was maybe one of twelve trucks in it. Bus ran regularly and it started an hour earlier (9am) then last year so I didn't even bother to try to park at the HS. (Lot was full by 0930 if not earlier. MissingLink08, were there even more tables this year ? Seemed like it. Your students, as usual, were extremely helpful again. Bathrooms clean, soap dispensers full, paper towels replenished and lots of eats and drinks available.

AND THE WINNERS ARE.....

Here are the raffle winners for the 2020 Ward Melville Expo Raffles.

Winners will be notified later today/tomorrow as I have family obligations today.

Winners CAN NOT CLAIM PRIZES UNTIL WEDNESDAY 7AM.

Please be patient as we have to set up the collection area, organize the 105 raffles and coordinate with school personnel .

Thank for your understanding.

Yes, we had over 200 vendors and over 300 tables

CRAZY

Thank you everyone from the NY ANGLER community. I know a lot of you originated from the other site. Its very cool since many have been to the show since it was 14 tables big. The kids get jacked up for it and work so hard. Set up Friday night is 6 hours (after a full day of school for them) They then come back in just after 5 am and are non stop working till 830 AM (one of these years I have to tape it, you would not realize the work done at this time) It then takes us over 3 hours to clean up and break everything down. IT IS ALL WORTH IT. The love and support from the fishing community is above and beyond. I hope that our club success sparks more clubs to start at their own high schools. Other states have expansive high school fishing clubs/teams and their are state tournaments and large scale events. Maybe one day we can say the same here on Long Island.....

Great show gets better every year. Picked up some real nice things on some excellent deals. Saw many friends had a great time. Thanks Bob for all the hard work you and the students do in making this show happen.

Well, its two weeks and no symptoms here. Hopefully no one at the show caught it or gave it. Already looking forward to the 2021 version but I just don't see how they can make it any better !
