...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Accomack and northern Northampton Counties through 515 PM EDT... At 413 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Tangier to 13 miles northwest of Exmore to 6 miles east of Gwynn. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Winds gusts to 40 to 45 mph. Rainfall 1 to 2 inches. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locally heavy rainfall may cause minor flooding of poor drainage and low lying areas. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Tangier around 420 PM EDT. Onancock around 450 PM EDT. Onley and Nassawadox around 455 PM EDT. Exmore, Parksley and Willis Wharf around 500 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by these storms include Horntown, Hallwood, Harborton, Melfa, Mappsville, Saxis, Franktown, Wallops Island, Temperanceville and Nelsonia. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Strong wind gusts are possible with these storms. These wind gusts are capable of knocking down tree limbs, small or weakened trees, and blowing around trash cans, potted plants, lawn furniture, and other light outdoor objects. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for southeastern Maryland...and eastern and southeastern Virginia.
