COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 1 PM EST MONDAY
Two to three feet of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.Northeast Suffolk and Southeast Suffolk Counties.Widespread moderate to locally major flooding of vulnerable areas is possible near the waterfront and shoreline, including roads, parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront. Numerous road closures are possible, and vehicles parked in
vulnerable areas near the waterfront may become flooded.
Flooding will also extend inland from the waterfront along
tidal rivers and bays.Large breaking waves of 9 to 13 ft will
result in significant beach erosion and flooding along the
oceanfront. Areas of dune erosion and scattered washovers are
likely, resulting in some flooding of roadways and vulnerable
structures behind protective dunes. Breaking waves of 4 to 8 ft
across Orient Point result in beach erosion, wave splashover
onto shoreline streets and properties, and minor damage possible
to shorefront structures. The potential for localized major coastal
flooding (3 ft above ground) is mainly along Peconic Bay, the
Peconic Riverfront, and south shore of the north fork. The
potential and exact threat areas for localized major coastal
flooding will depend on how much before high tide the easterly
storm force winds subside and if southerly gale force winds
develop by the time of high tide. The intensity and complexity
of the situation necessitates preparation for localized major
flooding in the above mentioned areas.

Forgive me gentlemen but unless warnings of water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness and the killing of firstborn children surface I am going to give this thread a personal rest and "unwatch" it. I habitually get weather reports every morning and night, and often more often, I find that fully 25% of every email I get is this thread. Since winter has been declared over, and although I wish one special "snowbird" a wonderful and relaxing stay in the blue hair state, I simply have no need to partake further.

And here I thought it was just me
