Rain crap, can't play in it...

Well, you can have as much snow you want. You can even have mine.

Every time we have a significant snow event I lose a minimum of two days to snow removal. Three locations and they're not exactly in close proximity.

Sunday the blower at the shop sucked up an extension cord, broke a shear pin and smoked the auger drive belt. So there's more time lost and an incomplete snow removal job because it took two days to get a belt.

And other than cross-country there's really no "playing" in the snow around here. So you Maineiacs and upstaters can have it all. FTS!

I'm finding there's a correlation between peeps attitude towards snow and being an uptight, cranky, and miserable type, or embracing it, having fun and being happy!!
I think I've made it pretty clear where I fall:p8-):p

If you think it's that much fun, come over and clear my lots and driveways. You can have all the fun you can handle. Then I can go out and have fun too. For me this is nothing but a lot of labor.

It really does help being retired so every day is Saturday or whatever the hell you want it to be and you've got nothing pressing to do on any given day...

AND, I can't pass up smashing that hanging curve you served up out of the park. Maybe consider what is part of my pre-storm routine, checking things out so there are no snow blower surprises...

Exactly. When my life was a different place and I had less obligations, time to enjoy winter sports or make money blowing out the neighbor's driveways it was a different story. Right now it's nothing but days of extra work and lost time.

BTW, I do the full-on routine. My snow blowers all start and run fine, and I had tucked the extension cord into the wheelwell of the car it was attached to so it wasn't on the ground. However, the wind must have got it and of course it was covered in snow, and there you go. Brand new 100 ft cord. Wasn't even a month old. Oh well, at least I can splice it back into a 93 ft cord.

We've almost completed the entire range of winter precipitation. Started as rain yesterday, made a quick transition to a tad of freezing rain, went to sleet for long enough to accumulate around an inch, and now oscillating between that and snow. Hope it gets over to all snow for a few hours before things clear up...
