they weren't trashing the chit out of nato...the allies....and the UN...and sending virtual BJs to PUTIN

AND CRIMEA IS NOT PART OF NATO......same scenario...no mutual aid agreement....but UKRAINE is a bit different eh? A big azz sovereign country...not a peninsula

Looks like another one of your 'want it both ways' arguments.

Not part of NATO, okay. Either it's a NATO problem or it's not. Pick one. If it's not a NATO problem then it's not a Trump problem. You can't blame Trump for NATO and then say it's not a NATO country.

Smaller piece of land? Still part of a sovereign nation. But it's small, so then it's okay? (like Sleepy said, "small incursions?) You'd be fine with it if they marched into Manhattan too I suppose? Either Russia can march into any non NATO country or they can't. Pick one. But try to be consistent this time.

Not a NATO problem in regards to mutual support if one gets attacked...they all get attacked......no incursion is ok...but going to war with Russia?? Not an option right now...that could change. Still TRUMP praises PUTIN and has nothing but scorn for NATO and THE U.S. actions. To undermine the decisions made by our own country and its military is not the actions of a rational person.....never mind a previous POTUS

so to clarify...which I shouldn't have to do since you know damn well what I'm saying.....SURE it's a NATO problem...but not in regards to a mutual aid agreement upon attack. Our worst nightmare is PUTIN attacking a NATO country......which being the madman he is...he just might

Will Putin stop at Ukraine? He's in Kyiv and only used 1/3 of his army..... that's a scary thought!

from what I just saw as a Breaking News report - it appears that the bulk of those unused forces are now getting ready to move against Kiev - including tanks & attack helicopters

Contrary to great Russian claims, and indeed President Putin’s sort of vision that somehow the Ukrainians would be liberated and would be flocking to his cause, he’s got that completely wrong, and the Russian army has failed to deliver, on Day One, its main objective,” British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said.

Wallace's assessment came as the outskirts of Kyiv were being pounded by Russian missile strikes and machine guns were being handed out to civilians preparing to defend their city from the invaders.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has shed his tailored suits and is now dressed for battle in hunting gear, has refused to leave Kyiv and has been pleading for Western governments to take tougher measures against Moscow.

"I think they are going to fight," James Stavridis, a retired Navy admiral and former top NATO commander, said of the Ukrainians on NBC's "TODAY." "The government in Kyiv has handed out 18,000 rifles to the populous. They are restricting all men age 18 to 60 from leaving the country. Clearly Zelenskyy, he’s out of his suit. He’s wearing his hunting gear. This is going to be a tough fight for the Russians."

Wallace agreed.

“It’s definitely our view that the Russians intend to invade the whole of Ukraine,” Wallace told Britain's Sky News, adding that Moscow is already "behind its hoped for timetable" and has lost more than 450 personnel.

The Ukrainian Department of Defense claims the Russians have suffered 800 casualties, a figure Moscow disputes.

NBC News has not confirmed the numbers of any injuries or deaths on either side.

"Currently, Kyiv is being under attack from the north and south," Veronika Melkozerova, executive editor of The New Voice of Ukraine, said on MSNBC. "Every Ukrainian is going to fight, and it is not going to be an easy ride for Russia."

no surprise there. Vlad is simply feeling his oats and the scandinavians had opportunities to join NATO after the wall fell. Finland did a good job holding off the Russkies in WW2 but sniper rifles ain't gonna cut it no more. Sweden supplied Hitler with steel despite being "neutral." (yeah, yeah, not much choice if they didn't want to have to speak German, but I wonder how their Russian language skills are ?)
 
I was watching some Russian columns traveling up Ukrainian highways, and wishing the Ukrainians had a few A-10's that could strafe them top to bottom with the 30mm cannons.
