Its getting scary
People are already moving towards controlling womens bodies, controlling what books can be in schools and libraries, and moving toward restricting who can marry who, and all sorts of other stuff we all thought was always going to be available in a free and democratic society
Its only a matter of time until those peeps get even more powerful and try controlling every aspect of our lives

Inflation now causing financial pain for most Americans, survey shows

A Gallup survey showed that higher inflation is creating severe financial pressure for millions of Americans, who are responding to higher prices by cutting back on spending.

"With high inflation persisting for over a year, a majority of Americans now say they are experiencing financial hardship from higher prices," the survey said. "Lower-income Americans were mainly affected early on, but most middle-income Americans and a substantial minority of upper-income Americans are now feeling the strain of higher prices."

The polls come just a few days before the release of new consumer price index data, which is expected to be another doozy: Economists surveyed by Refinitiv expect that inflation surged 8% in August on an annual basis; while that's down from June's record-high of 9.1% and July's reading of 8.5%, it remains well above pre-pandemic levels.

Administration officials credited the president’s policies, including the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, with narrowing the budget shortfall by speeding up the economic recovery last year.
The latest forecast “once again makes clear that we can and must make critical investments in the middle class, in expanding economic opportunity, and in tackling big challenges, and that we can do so in a way that is smart and fiscally and economically responsible,” an administration official said on a call with reporters.
The figures don’t include the additional savings expected from the recently passed health care, climate and tax bill, which is estimated to shave another $300 billion off deficits over the next decade.
 
National debt is the total amount of money a country owes creditors. In order to reduce its debt, the US would have to pay back the bonds it sold.

A government deficit occurs when more money is spent than what comes in as income. The deficit can be made up by borrowing, e.g., selling bonds.

So it makes perfect sense that the US debt would remain high, even if there has been a huge reduction in the deficit. That is not evidence that Biden is a liar. The deficit could theoretically be reduced to 0, with no immediate effect on the total debt. The national debt could be paid off to 0, with no immediate effect on the deficit.

It's almost as if Fox News has an agenda!
