It's just an onslaught from every direction.

Intuit is a gawdawful company. I wish I could undo ever using Cr@pbooks. The software sucks and the company is worse.

Unfortunately, it's pretty much a monopoly in that field right now.

I hear you on that. They still have one of the least expensive software platforms, and easy to use.

The point was again the attack on gun companies and Intuit trying to ban gun companies from using their services. And JP Morgan in there too. Attacks on all fronts, hard to keep up.

My primary beef with Initwit is that they used to be reasonable and affordable, but they've changed their business model to a socialist one. Now their payroll subscription charges you per employee. It doesn't change the software, it doesn't require more effort on their part or extra downloads. It's the same to them whether you're paying one employee or a hundred. But now they seem to think if you can afford to give another person a job (or more likely in their mind, exploit another member of the proletariat), they're entitled to a vig. It's like dealing with the government, or the mob.

My point is that if their business model is socialist, their corporate governance probably is too. So they sit on their moral high horse and decide who is worthy of being able to do business or not based on their imagined superior morality and wisdom. Kind of like that leftist model of government control.

Explore an outside payroll vendor, and see what the difference in cost would amount to. If payroll is weekly, change to bi-weekly. If bi-weekly, consider monthly. The less touches, the cost goes down. Just something to consider. Information can then just be downloaded directly, no cost to that.

Now their payroll subscription charges
That's my newest and latest Pet Peeve, Software Subscriptions, a cash cow that is the "newest".

Adobe made the shift about 7 years ago, and I rushed out to buy Photoshop, as I'd be damned to pay yearly for something I may use 5 times a year. Now my favorite backup program, Acronis True Image, as been incorporated into a suite that requires a yearly subscription.

Is M$ Office on a subscription yet? I'm still using an older version which works just fine.

Thank you, but I don't need or want a payroll service. All I wanted was what they called tax tables which would automatically calculate payroll taxes and deductions when you wrote paychecks, as well as filling and printing state and federal forms to file.

When we started with those thieves it was $50/ yr for 50 state tax tables. Then it suddenly jumped to $300/yr and now it's whatever the annual fee is plus a vig for each employee. Right now I look up the taxes and enter them manually. I wouldn't mind a reasonable subscription, but I draw the line at the mob shakedown.

And just like @Roccus7 said, you can't even buy a desktop copy anymore. So now all your bookkeeping goes poof if you don't pay the protection every month.

Where are all the consumer advocates and regulators that are supposed to protect the country from monopolies and their extortion?

“This is a serious case,” Scruggs told the judge. “Everyone involved in the storming of the Capitol last week needs to be held accountable for their actions, including Mr. Johnson.”

He’s right up there with the racist cop that shot Ashley Babbitt then did the talk show circuit to brag about it.

I had several quick books versions over the last 20yrs and never used the intuit services even when it was offered for free the first year of install.

We always did every thing intuit offered ourselves, emailing and linking documents/reports can be done with a little reading learning the moves it can be done manually and then cleaned up and adjusted by accounting quarterly Meetings and reporting.
