Whats going on in the World

The early-morning surprise assault, which has left at least 40 people dead and over 779 injured, according to Israel’s rescue service Magen David Adom (MDA), is unprecedented in recent history in its scale and scope. It comes on the 50th anniversary of the 1973 War in which Arab states blitzed Israel on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.

A barrage of some 2,200 rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip into Israel on Saturday morning starting at 6:30 a.m., according to the Israeli military, while armed gunmen infiltrated across the border in a ground assault into southern Israel. Multiple explosions were heard over Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and in southern Israel – some blasts likely the interceptions of incoming rockets – with air raids sent Israelis pouring into underground shelters.

“We are at war, not in an operation or in rounds, but at war,” Netanyahu said in a video statement, adding that Hamas, the Palestinian militant movement that runs Gaza, had “launched a murderous surprise attack against the state of Israel and its citizens.”

Hamas said it had captured several Israeli soldiers near the border after its fighters entered Israel by land, sea and air using paragliders.

This should be ok. Weakness.

Very sad for the folks of Israel.

Markets will react accordingly on Tuesday.

You think inflation is bad??

Ha. Poor foreign relations will sink this country. Add market losses to inflation and that’s the ultimate measure of the last few years.

Very sad. Yes. They have studied the system and found ways to circumvent the science behind it. So Israel is suffering.

And this administration is weak. So they realize they can isolate Israel and take advantage. Saw this coming. And you should have too.

had communications with a friend in Israel today and was very worried about him.

He was contacted in the early hours telling him where to report for military service amd ended up with a head injury being struck with shrapnel at a border position.
He is in the hospital and pissed they will not let him go back out……tuff brave Man.

God bless them all, it’s bad and going to get worse.

I had thought recently that it had been very quiet down there, maybe there was hope after all.
Then this happens and you realize there is no hope, they will always be at each others throats.

I tried to answer but got poofed.

Stretch out the resources. This is different than a loosely organized attack to make a point. It was very well planned with help from other regimes in the region. It was very well funded - think at least $6 billion dollars. These are some trained folks. And the weapons, not the usual low tech dated models. Some premium stuff left in Afghanistan has now found its way into the region's conflicts. Our weapons - used against our allies.
