WASHINGTON – Spotlighting a widening breach among Republicans, Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell criticized the Republican National Committee on Tuesday for censuring Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, and for suggesting that the Jan. 6 insurrection was "legitimate political discourse."
“It was a violent insurrection for the purpose of trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election from one administration to the next," McConnell told reporters. "That’s what it was."
Four days after the RNC voted to censure House members Cheney and Kinzinger for participating in the Jan. 6 investigation, McConnell said the party organization should not be "picking and choosing" among candidates: "We support all members of our party, regardless of their positions on some issues."
McConnell echoed other Republican lawmakers, who said the censure needlessly divided the party ahead of a challenging set of elections shadowed on the Republican side by former President Donald Trump and his continued insistence on false claims about the 2020 election.
“I don’t think you can kick out of the party everybody you disagree with, or it’s going to be a minority party," said Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas.

RISCH PUBLISHES REPORT ON BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S STRATEGIC FAILURES DURING AFGHANISTAN WITHDRAWAL​

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today published a report entitled “ Left Behind: A Brief Assessment of the Biden Administration’s Strategic Failures during the Afghanistan Evacuation ,” to give an overview of what went wrong in the planning and execution of the Biden Administration’s hazardous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“While there is substantial disagreement about the policy to leave Afghanistan, Americans share outrage over how the United States withdrew last August, and what that failure has done to America’s standing in the world,” said Risch. “My report describes how the Biden Administration’s failure of duty allowed for a quick Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and a botched withdrawal that left hundreds of Americans and tens of thousands of Afghan partners behind. The United States will have to deal with the fallout of this failure for years to come, so it is imperative that we mitigate the strategic implications to ensure we do not repeat mistakes.”

Key findings of the report include:

The Biden Administration did not hold a senior-level interagency meeting to discuss an evacuation or formally task the State Department (State) to contact at risk populations, including Americans, until August 14, just hours before Kabul fell.

The Biden Administration:

• Failed to do any contingency planning for worst-case scenarios.
• Ignored intelligence reports about the risk of an imminent Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
• Disregarded dissent cables from Foreign Service Officers on the front lines.
• Abandoned Bagram Air Base based on arbitrary troop caps and political considerations, hampering the evacuations and the reinserted troops.
• Failed to take significant steps to improve the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program despite clear evidence that the program was flawed.

The Biden Administration failed to protect:

• American citizens in Afghanistan – thousands of Americans and Legal Permanent Residents were left behind.
• Afghan partners – tens of thousands of SIV applicants were left behind, jeopardizing America’s credibility and ability to recruit partners in the future.

The botched withdrawal damaged U.S. credibility with our allies.

Nothing for nothing but anyone and I mean anyone that changes how an election is ran by using this pandemic two months leading up to it without due process is corrupt. The election process has been constantly changed without due process from day 1 in order to make it difficult for "some" Americans (that vote democratic) to vote. Because it was made easier last time the result has the gop scared shitless. So they are once again trying to do what ever it takes to make it difficult. I.E. no water on line!!! imagine that!!! It's not stealing an election that bothers them.....it's when "THEY" cannot!!

Meanwhile anyone and I mean anyone who doesn't see the wrong in the POTUS calling electors to "FIND" thousands of votes from thin air isn't even high enough to be in the clown category

Putin's superyacht abruptly left Germany amid sanction warnings over Russia-Ukraine tensions, report says

• It is speculated "Graceful" made an abrupt exit to avoid Western sanctions should Russia invade Ukraine.
• The luxury superyacht is said to be worth at least $100 million.

A yacht named "Graceful" and said to belong to Russian President Vladimir Putin left port in Hamburg abruptly before finishing repairs, according to reports from German media.

It is unclear what prompted the move, but the $100 million yacht's relocation from German waters to Kaliningrad, part of Russian territory, comes amid fears the West would impose sanctions if Russia were to invade Ukraine.
