Whats going on in the World

So spend a little more money to make up for it. Your country calls you.
Country club??? Too fricken funny. Nearest one is a 50 mile round trip, and I’d sooner take up fresh water fishing before playing golf, and there’s only 2 chances of me hitting the lakes, slim & none.

I’m doing enough to provide for the DJT targets this summer, 2 visits to Canada & 1 to Greenland!!

I don’t understand how you could not love freshwater fishing 😳

White's Pool in Smithtown. Head waters for the Nessiquoge River. I'd wade in there during the winter months & try for Perch & got the occasional striper that wintered over.

Always trying for the sea run Trout.

Beautiful setting. Sometimes it'd be snowing lightly adding to the charm.

Very, very peaceful.

Wonder what it's like now after Blyndenburg over ran the dam.

It's one of my "things". For most of my life I've lived walking distance to salt water and fresh water was a car ride away. The first time I caught a large mouth bass I had already been fishing 15 years and after watching "Bubba, Billy Bob and Ray Bob" on Saturday mornings those 15 years, I assumed I was going to tussle with a true fighter.

Well, suffice it to say, my first encounter with that paragon of fresh water fishing was an epic fail. On the rod I used, one that I always used for mackerel, stripers up to 13 lbs, and bluefish up to 5 lbs, that 3 lbs LMB didn't even measure up to a mackerel in fight. I was shocked, disillusioned and disappointed.

At that point I determined that fishing in freshwater was not my thing. I do dabble on occasion, but have yet to find the absolute joy, and frustration, I enjoy from being by the ocean...

Something I threaten to take up when the stripers are driving me nuts.

IF I ever did consider golf, I figure I could do my 2 least favorite things on the same day by putting a fresh water rod in the bag with the clubs... ;)
Actually did that when I was in Florida. Caught some nice bass from those ponds.

The poll showed that 64% of Maine residents believe transgender athletes "definitely should not" or "probably should not" participate in girls’ and women’s sports. Only 29% of Maine residents believed that transgender athletes "probably should" or "definitely should" compete against girls and women in sports.

So 3 out of 10 folks are sick. Scary.

There are monsters in some of those ponds. Place called Pembroke Pines in south Florida I was casting into a couple acre golf/condo pond. I knew what I was looking at about 25 yds out was a Tarpon finning. Never actually fished for them so had no clue its size. Tiny dorsal sticking up maybe four or five inches kind of yellowish. I kept casting a plastic bait at it. Ignored it every cast. Kept at it and at one point I snagged it, it erupted which looked like full grown gator bolting. I got back a scale the size of a Susan B Anthony silver dollar. That pond probably had a drain pipe to a canal.
