Whats going on in the World

ok skeptic (& why I have no fucking idea other then as Cell said - Sunday night)

Does that link work for y'all?

Why the hell am I bothering........

The military.com reference claims only one kill. Not a two-fer.

One would be less skeptical if the stories were consistent.

on the show, i love wen two insurgents were blown away by an American 50 caliber hiding behind a brick wall in Afghanistan… cell…

I remember seeing that..............................

After reading the military.com link it brought to light something I never thought about. Don't have the article open now & I maybe off by a bit but I believe it said that once you get past 2.5 miles the curvature of the earth begins to degrade your accuracy or the bullets ability to stay on a true path..

seasonal income, not year round for the rocky coast… that’s a concern in itself… cell…

Many places like dockside lobster shacks are only open seasonally because their volume and location can't support business during the winter. Usually these owners are Snowbirds to avoid Maine taxes...

Oh, if theres a vacant position on the economic council, ya should fill it...

my dear friends who offered their home for us after 5 nights says Maine is the poorest state in the country... celll...

That would mean that I'm interested in increasing the Maine economy, along with the increased population, congestion, infrastructure, crime, etc.

That couldn't be further from the truth; we adore living in a quiet, rural area and actively sought that for retirement. Like many local full-time residents, we avoid the crowded tourist-invaded areas in the summer, only to reemerge in the fall when the hoards have retreated.

During my formative years on LI, I grew up in a very rural and quiet area, Sound Beach. We purchased milk at a working dairy, bought produce at a truck farm, peaches from Davis Peach Farm, and the "big town" for groceries was 5 miles away, Pt. Jeff Station. It was a 1/4 mile walk to the beach and a quick trip to Mt. Sinai Harbor for clams and oyster collecting. Of course, these are memories, as the dairy are condos, the truck farm is houses, as the peach farm is, IIRC, pulling LI OFF the retirement location list.

Those specifications were paramount in our search for a retirement site, and we even upgraded with "Town" being 10 miles away, and the boat, oysters and clams are sitting in the backyard. Why would I spend any time at all trying to ruin where I live? I have enough agita taking care of a 198 year old lighthouse, but that's a labor of love...

blame God for population growth and progress...

we met a young lady walking the grounds near our guest house, 9th generation, she says she couldnt think of living anywhere else... myself and fellow guest say the say thing about Manhattan, we couldnt live elsewhere...

guess its what ya get comfortable with... cell...
