Whats going on in the World

Was thinking more along the lines of corporations pulling out of Manhattan...
Started during COVID and continues. Folks do not realize the corporate vacancies in NYC now. First hand I have seen businesses leave for these other states. I have also been involved with the consulting side of this getting businesses out of NYS. Also involved moving whole families and entire workforces to other states. Never knew concierge services was in my blood!! lol.

It was already creeping and COVID just floored the accelerator. That's what happens when a population keeps voting for people to spend other people's money on them. The other people pack up and take their money with them. The new mayor is going to push it off a cliff.

I have said this in the past. Folks keep voting for this sick kind of existence, they deserve what they get. I have not heard of any folks missing NYC once they open their eyes to what other parts of the country offer.

Waiting to see “Wall Street” be a designated street in Miami or a more friendly city. Don’t be fooled. Business DOES NOT need NYC. COVID proved it.

Looks like the Schumer Shutdown may be close to being over. Nasty rotten egg on his face, for sure!!

Still want to know what "handout" they are getting, hopefully not too much waste. Especially not credits from COVID. Can you believe, 5 YEARS AGO!

Among the defectors were Sens. Angus King, I-Maine, John Fetterman, D-Pa., Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., Tim Kaine, D-Va., and the number two Democrat in the Senate, Dick Durbin, D-Ill.

Nice to see Maine helping out. ;)

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, charged that it would be a "horrific mistake" for Democrats to cave now without an Obamacare deal.

"If Democrats cave on this issue, what it will say to Donald Trump is that he has a green light to go forward toward authoritarianism," Sanders said. "And I think that would be a tragedy for this country."

Oh no, Bernie - a constitutional crisis!!! The end of the world!!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D–N.Y., "is no longer effective and should be replaced."

He has a point..........................................No longer effective in destroying America.

WOW

Here’s what the three measures mean:

  • Capital gains tax ban: Prevents Texas from ever taxing profits from the sale of investments, real estate, or other capital assets, a move meant to reassure investors and entrepreneurs.
  • Securities transaction tax ban: Bars the state from imposing taxes on financial trades or payroll transactions, effectively ruling out a "Wall Street tax" on buying or selling stocks.
  • Estate and inheritance tax ban: Prohibits any future taxation on wealth transfers after death, a safeguard for business owners and families looking to pass assets to heirs.
Supporters counter that Texas’ growing economy – now the eighth-largest in the world – generates more than enough revenue without such taxes, pointing to the state’s budget surplus and rapid job growth as evidence that low taxes can fuel prosperity rather than constrain it.

The timing is also strategic. The Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE), which recently secured SEC approval, is slated to open in Dallas in 2026, positioning itself as a direct challenger to the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq.

I have been told that developments like this would not happen. NYSE and NYC is being phased out. Brought on by a blue state government mentality. Keep saying, take notes from Texas and others.......................

Nice to see some representatives realizing they work for the American people and not their political party. Good job.

As the onions peels back the smell stinks more. Very interesting comments.
