Whats going on in the World

Not stage 4 TDS. This is something our service members need to be aware of. A soldier cannot just blindly follow orders.

Here’s an example of true heroism when one soldier stood in the way of his fellow U.S. service members and threatened to shoot them if they continued to blindly follow the orders given to them.

The My Lai Massacre was an illegal killing incident in which US Army soldiers massacred hundreds of unarmed Vietnamese civilians in the hamlet of Mỹ Lai on March 16, 1968, during the Vietnam War
. The incident, one of the most infamous war crimes committed by US troops, was covered up for over a year by senior military officers and ignited international outrage when it was finally exposed.

Background and events of the massacre
  • Mission: Soldiers from Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, were on a "search and destroy" mission in the village of Sơn Mỹ, a Viet Cong (VC) stronghold. The troops were told that any villagers remaining in the area would likely be VC or VC sympathizers.
  • Massacre: Upon entering the hamlet of Mỹ Lai, the soldiers found only unarmed civilians, including women, children, and elderly men, preparing breakfast. Despite finding no Viet Cong, the soldiers began killing indiscriminately. Civilians were rounded up, raped, and tortured before being murdered. One large group of villagers was forced into an irrigation ditch and executed with automatic weapons. Homes were set on fire, and those attempting to flee were shot.
  • Death toll: The number of victims is disputed, but estimates range from 347 to 504. The dead included 182 women (17 of whom were pregnant), 173 children, and 56 infants.
  • Intervention: The killings were eventually stopped by Warrant Officer Hugh Thompson Jr., an Army helicopter pilot. Horrified by what he was seeing from above, Thompson landed his helicopter between the American soldiers and the remaining villagers, instructing his door gunner to open fire on the soldiers if they continued their attacks. He and his crew then evacuated the civilians. For his actions, Thompson was initially vilified but later received the Soldier's Medal for heroism.

Exposure and aftermath
  • Cover-up: The military initially reported the operation as a successful engagement in which 128 Viet Cong were killed. When Thompson's account was reported up the chain of command, senior officers covered up the incident.
  • Exposure: The truth came to light a year and a half later when veteran Ronald Ridenhour, who had heard detailed accounts from other soldiers, wrote a letter to multiple government officials calling for an investigation. This led to investigative journalist Seymour Hersh breaking the story in November 1969, leading to international scandal.
  • Consequences: Ultimately, 14 men were charged in relation to the massacre, but only Second Lieutenant William Calley was convicted. Calley, who had ordered the shootings, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of 22 civilians. However, President Nixon intervened, and Calley ultimately served only three and a half years under house arrest before being paroled. The massacre fueled the anti-war movement and raised critical questions about military accountability and ethical conduct.

The Anchorage School District in Alaska admitted it made a "mistake" by adding a disclaimer saying that the school district "does not endorse these materials or the viewpoints expressed" on a flyer which solely contained the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

A parent in Anchorage was shocked to find the sticker after her daughter brought the pamphlet home, which was handed out to students in class.

"Today my daughter brought home a pamphlet with the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution," Karen Waldron posted to Facebook. "On the back was a sticker saying that the Anchorage School District ‘does not endorse the materials or viewpoints expressed in them.’"

Please, please pay attention to the false indoctrination that infects this country's schools today. Protect your children and grandchildren. This is how the left infiltrates and destroys our youth.

Blatantly saying "WE DO NOT ENDORSE THE CONSTITUTION." Sick.

What no comments yet about the "B Team" mishandling of the Comey Case?

Nothing like only being able to pull someone off the bench that has zero prosecution experience.

BTW, that "B" is both literal and figurative, Second Rate & Bimbo... 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
