Democratic lawmakers are calling for fellow House Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell to resign, and some have gone as far as saying they would vote to expel Swalwell from Congress.
Swalwell, a California Democrat, has been accused of sexual misconduct.
Reps. Ro Khanna of California and Eugene Vindman of Virginia have said Swalwell should resign from office.
Reps. Pramila Jayapal of Washington, Jared Huffman of California, and Teresa Leger Fernández of New Mexico have indicated that Swalwell should resign, but if he does not, they would vote to boot him from Congress.

The irony of this however is that the Democrats are on board, with Hakeem Jeffries leading the charge now………. while the “sex abuser in chief” who speaks of grabbing women by their, um…. Vagina, and at least 28 women that have accused him of sexual abuse, and throw in a few rape accusations, and a civil trial that awarded one of the woman many millions of dollars…………. while the Republicans sat silent.

I thought after VW completely farked up the diesel market in the US they were fully committed to the electric future.
I thought they were going to fall on their (no carbon-steel swords allowed!) lightsaber, and if necessary, sacrifice the company on the alter of the mighty electron to redeem itself.

Unfortunately, it's often the shareholder's fault. The financial engineers running the company pander to the speculators instead of the investors. Remember Ford is majority owned by the Ford family. They were one of very few companies that sparked outrage whe they stopped issuing quarterly guidance.
Screwing around with the tax code at the behest of financiers is part of what really destroyed industry in America. Then speculators started treating investing like FanDuel.

Federal authorities warn Missouri not to release an illegal immigrant accused of raping and kidnapping a woman in Kirksville on Easter Sunday.

The Department of Homeland Security announced Monday that Cristian Lopez-Gomez, a Honduran national who entered the U.S. illegally in April 2024 and was released into the country under the Biden administration, is now charged in the attack in Kirksville, home to Truman State University.
Authorities say Lopez-Gomez raped the woman and held her against her will during the holiday weekend. He remains behind bars in the Adair County jail, where ICE has lodged a detainer to keep him from being released.
"Thankfully, Missouri cooperates with ICE law enforcement," DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said. "When state and local law enforcement work with ICE, we can safely remove criminal illegal aliens from our country and put the safety of American citizens first."
