Whats going on in the World

I watched Scott Adam’s video. The 2nd half is all just a bunch of bullchit, they are all racist.

As to John Stossel and the SPLC video, I’ve seen that before. He a washed up old Foxnews guy who embraces the negative. Sure, the SPLC has its faults, but I believe, as most people do, that it does more good than harm. You don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

Anyway, the starter just said we’re up!! 🏌️⛳

So you don't see the reason Mr Adams feels the way he does. They're all just racists and are to be dismissed.

I guess if you just dismiss the problem, it isn't a problem.

SPLC is like Jesse Jackson and a number of other charities and activist groups. Started with a purpose, accomplished worthwhile things, and instead of moving on to more worthwhile things they didn't want to give up their gravy train. So they started manufacturing problems to present themselves as the solution. Eventually that turns into nothing but a grift.

I'm not going to do the thread on professionalism. I just don't have the time. But anyone who creates an organization like that should do it with the objective of disbanding it. Solve the problem and shut it down, or move on to a different but equally serious problem. Instead we get people who just can't give up their hold on power. That's unprofessional.

We were doing pretty well with race relations in this country until we elected a black president. After that, all of Dr. King's goals of not judging by the color of skin went out the window and a whole new chapter of racism was written. New terms like privilege, critical theory and micro aggression showed up.

Let's be honest. Once we elected a person of color it pretty much proved that the institutionalized racism of the past had been destroyed and all of these race-baiting and exploiting groups were out of a job.

That’s right! Never ever heard anyone apologize for being white until Hussein Obama said we should be.

Still waiting for my Obama phone too.

Scott Adam’s basically lost his livelihood as a result of the disparaging words he spoke. The overwhelming consensus was that his words were racist. The result was he dropped like a hot potato.

I believe I know what you are trying to say about professionalism, however I disagree with the labeling, title.

1. I think “professionalism” is the wrong word you are trying to convey. Professionalism has to do more with accomplishments of one’s own methods, and practices opposed to amateur. I think want you want to convey would perhaps be better titled “integrity” which might be better suited as it refers to righteousness, and rectitude. Of course it would be your thread if you decide to start it so you can name it anything you like.

2. I don’t think the SPLC ever finished the initial work they set out to do, in fact I believe the challenges they face today are immense.

3. Barack Obama. I voted for McCain & Romney, and lost both of course. I had been a registered Republican my entire life until Trump came along. I then switched to an Independent. Although my candidates lost, I was felt very proud to be an American when Barack won. I thought we had come a long way as a country to elect a black man.

I don’t see Barack as having anything to do with worsening race relations other than the fact that he was black and that brought out the many racist in this country that still exist to this day, including President Trump who claimed he wasn’t born here.
