Did you soak and/or boil to get the salt out?
I have made fish cakes with it, so rinse, soak with frequent change of water, and then lightly boil. Drain and add to potato mix. Form cakes and delish!

I remember as a kid when my grandfather did the Seven Fishes for Christmas Eve, he would fry the baccala then after in the same pan fry up some scallions to serve with it.f
