Been wanting to make Octopus for years, but my family always complained what a pain it was, easier to make a steel-belted radial tender than to do so for octopus. There are all kinds of stories, beating them over a rock, cooking them with a wine cork, etc.

One of our favorite restaurants makes a dynamite grilled octopus and when I saw whole, cleaned, frozen octopi at Costco this weekend, I said, "Screw it!" and bought one. Didn't take too many Googles to find out the secret for tender octopus was boiling it for a long time, ~ 1 hour or more. Decided to test it today over some Tuscan Beans and the results were amazing. Won't make it for the Christmas Eve because I won't get to Costco until after Christmas, but it will be on many future menus...
