Doxie brand chopped clams in the "Canned Fish Aisle" of your local supermarket. They're skimmer clams, but once in a while you can find canned littlenecks. Either way, fresh hard shells in what ever size you have, kick azz...

I decided to take 4 of my biggest clams from Saturday's dig, lightly steam them open, dice them and throw them on the pie for a "Downeast New Haven CT White Clam Pizza", besides the clams there's EVOO with 4 cloves of garlic pressed in, chopped fresh basil, some red pepper flakes, black pepper, oregano, squirt of lemon juice, layer of shredded mozzarella and grated pecorino romano.

The Admiral is a CT girl from just outside New Haven. Until I met her I never heard of white clam pizza. It's now my favorite.

I've had clam pizza's many times but will have to try making one.

Was just bustin' on ya on the canned clams.
Personally, I wouldn't be able to bring myself to buy them.
My wife tells me there's a whole aisle of them at the new Shop Rite in Riverhead to mess with me cuz she knows how I feel about them
I can't even deal with peeps serving "baked clams" in the foil clam shaped doo hicky things. That's a giveaway that they are from a can and don't have the shells to put them in....
