Never did it that way at all at three different marina's; Northport, Gone Fishing, and Oaklands. Seems lazy to me or lack of confidence backing into the slip

at Oaklands backed in 4am before heading out offshore for a day trip. Those middle line slips were wide as fuck for the big dogs with the salons and tuna towers

no they had a half ramp walk out plank on the starboard side. I use to have to loosen up dock line on the port side so the stern would move to the ramp side (starboard). Then jump on...its was a biatch actually.

I heard that in Holiday Beach outboards that are backed in and when they rose well over the bulkhead hot hung up on way back down

Did Holiday beach have floating docks?

There is a section east of the ramp that is floating dock but no fingers and still has poles at outside. Thats where my brother has his boat
I think everything west of ramp is bulkhead

My fishing buddy is at a marina with floating finger docks, but the way you tie up and having a boat neighbor with no pier in between, it's just utterly impractical to back in. We needed to do it when we had the spun hub in order to pull them. But with the engines tilted up it just a no-go.

YMMV, or other marinas may be different, but it was a cluster for us.
