Yes, I usually wait until at least the first major update. Like I said above, I was bored and had a fresh, full backup so I knew I could immediately nuke it and get back to "normal" if necessary.Very happy to hear. Usually not the case!! Always glitchy!
Oops - above should read "there". Damn.
I've yet to find an app that works with 10 that 11 has puked on.Thx. maybe I will give it a go too. I have a few desktop apps that I need to check if they are compatible with 11, plus a few Crypto wallet extensions on MS Edge browser.
I assume if you right click on the EXE you’ll be presented with some alternative options like running it using Windows 7 or 10 Compatibility Mode.Thx. I have a retired QuickBooks App which I still use. They went full browser a few months ago. Rather not login online if I can avoid it. But will have to check.
Glad to hear, especially that you also find the web pages loading faster. I was wondering if I was "seeing things". If things continue to hum along, it will rank as the best execution of a MS OS...did the download of 11. all good on the apps working. UI and graphics are pretty much the same, a few slight changes for me; the web pages load faster![]()
OK, first possible chink in the armor. Last night I noticed slower page loading again, and often had to reload pages because they didn't load correctly. Was the same this AM so I figured WTH?, powered DOWN and powered back up, problem gone.
No idea if this was specifically a W11 issue or one with my computer. May have to power down the computer at night, not leaving it in sleep mode?
Could be, but the restart took care of it. Maybe Chrome needed to get its mind right. I hadn't rebooted since I loaded it last Thursday...Might be more of a browser issue, I'm sure Microsoft would prefer you use their Edge browser.
I remember that! I worked for a global company where IT was outsourced to India. The 'membranes" over there were doing updates to us at 2PM EST with no warning!! CPU would reboot in the middle of the working day. Clowns! They had a stretch where updates were automatic - you couldn't schedule them. Lawyers in court doing presentations would have their laptop update right in the middle of court.
