Windows 11???

It happened again, Chrome started getting slow to reload and pages often loaded wonky on my laptop which has been ON with Chrome open for a good 3 days. Reboot fixed it. This may need a Chrome update to fix.

Just an FYI for those of you out there sitting on the fence. I still believe W11 is worth it.

Try using the edge browser it’s really good.
I'm still suffering from Internet Exploreritis... ;) ;) ;)

They had their chance and now I've got way too much invested in Chrome to be switching. The pain of migration is way more than the minor inconvenience of shutting down at night, since the system pops back up in seconds.

And I've yet to determine if just closing down Chrome every night will rectify the problem, instead of the good old "Three Finger Salute", you know, Ctrl-Alt-Del. Something that's deeply engrained in MS Lore...

OK, After almost 1 month of running Windows 11 I have no intention to go back to W10. The only "personality" I've found is to keep it running at warp speed, I have to power down the computer every few nights, which is no big deal as this thing fires up from being totally off with 15 seconds.

Other than that quirk, I got nothing to complain about..

My desktop has been failing the Windows 10 Version 2004 update for 18 months. Surprisingly, Saturday it successfully updated to Windows 10 22H2 which makes it current - PC Health Check and all now available. Go figure.

Laptop was updated to Windows 11 a few months ago, no issues - seems smooth. Some menus take a bit to get used to - miss the screen snip option which now uses the keypad.

Anyone else get hung up with the Windows11 23H2 update?
Hangs at 70% - went back to previous restore point and paused updates for 4 weeks.

I will check that out tomorrow on our obligatory PC, I know it does regular updates and does fail sometimes. I wonder if that’s win11 🤔

So I cant upgrade my desktop to Win 11 how bad is it gonna be sticking with 10?

At one point I had read that MS would allow you to pay for 1, 2 or 3 year of support for Windows 10 post Oct. 2025.
I haven't seen anything on that in a while.

Your puter is old and doesn't meet the minimum specs to run W11. I had 2 ancient ones that fit that bill, gave one to Mud and the other one had the decency to go tits up so it was replaced...
